Overview
You can organize your users on OneUp into teams. A team is a group of people: an office, a department, a desk, a region.
Teams let you report on several people's data at once, and they're also how you control who can see whose data (see Data Access).
Users can be in more than one team, so you can make teams as specific as you need. You can also put teams inside other teams to mirror how your business is structured, for example:
Company > Region > Office.
A parent team's numbers automatically include the child teams beneath it. Find out more ➡️ here.
Creating teams
🔐 Permissions required: Manage all teams or Modify teams you manage
Select the manage icon in the main navigation menu. The icon is on the far right, next to your profile picture or initials.
Then, select platform settings:
Navigate to the Teams page:
To create a new Team, click +Create a team in the top right of the page and give your team a name, e.g., London office.
Then, select a parent team for your team if applicable. This is the team it should sit under, reflecting your company structure, e.g., UK.
Find out more about nested teams here.
To create a standalone team, leave the parent team blank, creating a top-level team.
Select create.
Next, configure data access for your teams in the settings area. This is important as it controls who can see whose data.
The settings area also allows you to customize your new team.
Add a team icon, pick a colour, and set a timezone at the bottom of the page.
Then, add users to your team in the People area: you can add Managers at the top, and non-manager team members at the bottom.
💡By default, Managers do not contribute to team performance data.
Use the contributor toggle and make a manager a contributor to change this i.e., their data will also contribute to the tam's totals.
10. Save your changes.
Duplicating a Team
Save set-up time by duplicating teams.
Select the settings icon next to the specific team, and then, duplicate.
Duplicating teams copies the team's members and their permissions.
Editing an existing Team
To edit an existing Team, select the pencil icon to the right of the Team.
Alter whatever information you need within the Team settings, and click Save to apply them.
Moving users between Teams
When you reassign a consultant to a new team, OneUp automatically records the move. Their performance data stays with the team they were in when they generated it, and their new team starts fresh from the date of the move.
For example, if a consultant moves from Team A to Team B on 15 June, Team A keeps their contribution up to 14 June. Team B's data begins from 15 June onward.
Automatic tracking started on 10 June 2026. If consultants moved between teams before that date, those moves are not captured automatically.
You can add historical records manually to correct past reporting.
To view, add, edit, or delete a user's team membership history, see Managing team move history.
📊 Data Access
Through the Teams page, you are also able to have control over who in your teams and company has access to whose data on the OneUp platform. Have a look at our Data Access article to see how.
📈 Using the Primary team profile field to report on users that are in more than one team
Specify which team is a user's primary team in order to accurately report on which teams completed activities in client, candidate, and job reporting.
